Jesus Died on a Tree not Cross - See What the Bible Says

crucification of Jesus Christ

Did Jesus Die on Cross or Tree

Many christian believe or say Jesus was executed by hanging on a cross made of two pieces of wood. The christian films of old and the most recent one still claims Jesus died on the cross. Then one begins to wonder where it written in the bible that the savior of the world died on a cross.

What The Bible Says

Acts 5:30 KJV Jesus was executed by hanging on a tree according to the book of Act. It says the God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Then as a christian one is forced to ask why the misconception?why do churches and its ministers tell us Jesus died on the cross?

The Misconception of Jesus Death

Both of the words used by Bible writers to describe the instrument of Jesus death suggest one piece of wood not two. The Greek word 'stau.ros' means a pole. It is not a cross, the word Xy'lon used in (Acts 5:30) is simply an upright pale or stake to which Romans nailed those who were thus said to be crucified.

According to Deuteronomy 21 vs 22-23

And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree. 23)His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shall in any wise bury him that day (for he that is hanged is accursed of God) that thy land be not defiled, which the lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance. From the verse above one can see a perfect correlation between what is said here and the previous chapter. The christian apostle Paul wrote that jesus became 'a curse instead of us' because it is written.

Galatians 3 vs 13

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us; for it is written, cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree. there are so many other verses in the bible which refers to the death of christ and the circumstances sorrounding it. For more clearification see (Acts 10.39), (Acts 13.29.)
