Palace have been looking for someone to replace Sam Allardyce, who from retired from football management after guiding the club to Premier League safety in May.

CHELSEA are facing a £200million body blow with Eden Hazard and Diego Costa BOTH set to quit this summer.
Real Madrid appear increasingly confident of signing Hazard for a world-record £100m after making the Belgian playmaker their top target.
And Spanish goal ace Costa also seems on his way after telling friends he is sick to the back teeth of the English weather.
Chelsea would not raise as much for Costa, 28, as Hazard.
But the champions-elect would have to spend around £200m to replace both players with similar quality.

Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho is set to become the most surprising member of manager Pep Guardiola’s summer clearout at the Etihad Stadium with the club willing to listen to offers for the 20-year-old Nigerian.

Ajax will face Manchester United in the final of the Europa League after narrowly overcoming Lyon with a 5-4 aggregate victory.

Kasper Dolberg's exquisite goal proved vital as 10-man Ajax clung on seal their place in the Europa League final despite a 3-1 defeat to Lyon, who saw their dramatic attempt at comeback fall short. 

Ajax, winners of the UEFA Cup in 1992, held a 4-1 lead from the first leg in Amsterdam, and Dolberg's sixth Europa League goal of the campaign - a subtle dink over Anthony Lopes - furthered their advantage 27 minutes into a thrilling contest. However, naive defending from Peter Bosz's young side allowed Lyon back into the tie - Alexandre Lacazette netting twice in the space of 76 seconds on the stroke of half time. The Catalan club are looking to bring in five or six players for next season and here, Goal takes a look at their objectives for 2017-18. 

The season is still not over, but there is movement in the transfer market and Barcelona are already planning for 2017-18. And even though the Catalan club have yet to finalise any deals for the coming campaign, the Blaugrana have clear objectives in place for the summer window. Among those is a left-back to compete with Jordi Alba, although it looks like top target Theo Hernandez will join Real Madrid after the Atletico defender (who is on loan at Alaves) underwent a medical with Los Blancos on Monday.
