Anxiety as MMM again removes GH of Mavrodians

Over 92 hours since the ponzi scheme, Mavrodi Mundial Moneybox, MMM, announced its return and unfreezing of Mavros after a month’s freezing of access to requesting financial help (GH), it has again begun removing the Get Help (GH) access of some of the participants, otherwise called Mavrodians. The reason given is that the measure is to ensure a balance between Get Help (GH) and Provide help (PH). Although a few participants have claimed they had been paired with who would pay them their returns, otherwise known as Provide Help (PH), no one has been paid so far.
Many have even begun lamenting the inability to get help despite the scheme’s announcement that the Mavros had been unfrozen. However, more anxiety have begun looming as most of the participants woke up today again to discover that their request for help have been removed, a situation that has further heightened the fears of the ponzi scheme really coming back to normal.

Other promoters of the scheme wrote to allay the fears of the participants, saying the removal of the GH is a further measure taken to moderate those requesting for help and hence, have a balance between (GH) and (PH). One of them, Olaarowolo wrote, “Please be informed that some GH are temporary removed because measures to ensure that there are balances between PH-GH, GH-PH. Please do not panic. As matched orders are cleared, relief with spread. Thank you.” Another promoter, Prince_Demilade, wrote, ” pls do not panic U may have observed that you cannot find your GH order in your dashboard as well as d introduction of letters to the catcha on logging. This is just evidence of work going on on d new model… Your money is not lost and u can still see it in your mavro as pending withdrawals.. BE INFORMED.” “Good morning Mavrodians, I have been receiving complaints regarding GH request no longer on MMM Dashboard and GH amount exceeds allowed daily maximum limit when GH button is clicked.” “Like i said earlier the new model has been introduced and programmers are working relentlessly on the website to make sure everything is working perfect so we should play our own role by exercising patient and wait for the programmers to finish what they have started.” “Please do not panic if you experience any changes and please do not cancel any processed GH or PH to avoid your account being placed on moratorium.Your money is still intact and in safe hands. Long live MMM Nigeria!” And yet, another promoter gave the following reasons for the removal of the GHs. In what he titled, “Why Your Get Help (GH) Orders Were Removed, ” he explained thus: “Many participants woke up this morning to see that their Get Help (GH) orders have been removed completely from their PO’s Dashboard. Though some people called it canceled but the truth of the matter is that it was only removed not canceled. Please note that the GH orders were not cancelled because if cancelled, you will see it at the right hand side as deleted.” “It was removed because of the following reasons: There is an ongoing upgrade because programmers are always working on the MMM system every day so the promised New Model can be unveiled as soon as possible. You might notice earlier this morning, the login Captcha was showing alphanumeric as against the numbers until it restored to numbers later today.” “Why is the upgrade taking so long? Why not shut down the website and finish the upgrade once and for all? Have you thought of the unprecedented panic it will cause if MMM Nigeria Personal Office website is shut down for 1hour? Again, www.mmmoffice.com is not only for Nigeria, it is being used by MMM in other countries too.” “Moreso, many participants have formed the habit of cancelling their GH orders and creating new GH orders hoping they will be matched earlier. There is no need for that anyway but to forestall that, the created GH orders were removed and that is why you can’t create new GH orders because the old GH orders have not been cancelled but removed and withdrawal is still pending.” “There is no cause for any alarm over the removed GH orders, if you check your Mavro, you will notice the value of the removed GH order has been restored and had also increased though it is still showing pending withdrawal.” “Incase you missed these tweets from @MMMNigeriaHelp earlier: There have been reports of “removed GH orders” in some POs. The removed GH orders are mostly GH orders created on Friday/Saturday.” “There is no cause for any alarm. The value of the removed GH order has been restored and increased though showing pending withdrawal.” “ The removal of the GH orders and other changes/errors you might notice are indications that the #NewModel is taking shape gradually.” “Tuesday (Mavro growing day), a lot of participants created GH orders thus the message “GH amount exceeds allowed daily maximum”. “Please await further instructions either to create a new GH order or if it will be automatically restored and matched. We crave your indulgence, patience & understanding at this period. We are doing our best to have these issues/upgrades resolved ASAP.” “Let’s be patient while the Administrators of MMM do their best to restore the confidence we have in the system,” he wrote.

We’ve big problems in Nigeria- Sultan of Sokoto

Sultan of Sokoto and President, Jama’at Nasril Islam(JNI), Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, on Tuesday, in Ilorin said that there are too numerous problems confronting the country, admitting that there is palpable tension among Christians and Muslims.

“We have problems in this country. Let’s not deceive ourselves, there is friction between Muslims and non Muslims,” he delcraed.

The Sultan made the declaration at the opening of a- two day international conference on “Security And Peaceful Co-existence In Nigeria, holding in Ilorin, Kwara state.

The conference is being organised by Kwara State government through the state’s Arabic Education Board.

The Sarkin Muslim noted that the foundation of our problem is “injustice which leads to bad governance”.

He added that” we have been having problems in Nigeria because of impunity. The small percentage of criminals in our midst should, however, not be used to label all of us.”

The Sultan, however, said” with proper understanding,we can overcome our problems”.

The foremost monarch said such problems shouldn’t have arisen, giving the fact that over 90 percent of Nigerians are Muslims and Christians and they have a guide.

He said “God did not make a mistake when he created us as Muslims and Christians and made us people of Nigeria”.

The Sultan who decried killing of innocent people in the name of religion, asked religious leaders to stop inciting people against one another through their preaching.

LIVE: Man City 'will pay £100 million' to land Lionel Messi from Barcelona

While there is uncertainty over Lionel Messi's contract situation at Barcelona, there will be suggestions that -- however unlikely it might seem -- he could move elsewhere.

Reports that he could link up with his old boss, Pep Guardiola, at Manchester City have surfaced more than a few times, and now The Sun claims City have told Barca they "will pay £100 million" to sign him.

It reports that talks between executives of both clubs "were held at the end of last month to determine whether a world-record transfer is possible."

Although City did not use those discussions to table any formal bid, Barcelona's "willingness to listen" is reported to have encouraged them, with the Sun saying a source had described the meeting as positive.

City also believe "the relationship Guardiola forged with Messi at Barcelona can seal a move" -- a move the Sun says would bring the player a weekly wage of some £800,000.

Tianjin Quanjian say CSL rules ruined Diego Costa, Radamel Falcao deals

Tianjin Quanjian owner Shu Yuhui has said he had looked into a move for Chelsea's Diego Costa and drawn up a contract for Monaco's Radamel Falcao before the Chinese Football Association (CFA) announced rule changes on overseas players.

On Monday, the CFA imposed a reduction of the number of foreign players able to be fielded in the forthcoming season, which begins in March, warning that limits would be imposed in order to reduce "irrational investment."

Shu, who said he had also been exploring moves for Paris Saint-Germain's Edison Cavani and Real Madrid's Karim Benzema, has been working with agent Jorge Mendes on his plans to strengthen the squad.

"Our club had a massive investment plan for the new season but it was tightened up by the new rules," Shu told Tianjin Sports Channel.

"I made an appointment with Mendes and he came to my hometown to visit me. At that time, we were interested in signing Costa.

"We need an out-and-out striker so we made a bid for Benzema. We also made an attempt for Falcao.

"As a matter of fact, the club had even prepared the contracts for Falcao and Raul Jimenez, but the new rules forced us to give up on them.

"PSG told us Cavani would only be allowed to leave in June, even though the player himself was willing to join us. The same can be said for Costa because Chelsea will also only let him leave in June.

"However, the new season of CSL will almost have reached the halfway stage in June -- and we can't wait that long."

Shu, who made his fortune in herbal medicine, said Tianjin had now turned their attention to Fiorentina striker Nikola Kalinic.

The club gained promotion to the top flight under coach Fabio Cannavaro, with the Italian steering the club to the China League One title last season.

"We are currently discussing whether to hold onto [former Brazil striker] Luis Fabiano," Shu said. "But Cannavaro told us he preferred Kalinic, who would perfectly fit into the team's style of play."

Donald Trump Jets & Choppers in Limbo

Donald Trump has a problem on his hands ... what to do with 2 private jets and 3 helicopters.

Our Trump sources say the fate of Trump's 757, Citation X and 3 choppers are in limbo. He can't sell them because if he does it will look like he's profiting off the presidency. Likewise, he can't charter them out because it will open the door to criticism that he's getting a POTUS premium.

Trump, we're told, will not let the kids use the planes ... they fly commercial and if they choose private it's on their own dime.

And putting the aircrafts in storage poses other problems. They need to be maintained, which is a complicated and expensive process ... requiring pilots and mechanics.

POTUS problems.

Brexit deal: Theresa May commits to vote in UK parliament

London (CNN)British Prime Minister Theresa May has committed to placing a final Brexit deal to a vote in both houses of the UK parliament.
In a much-anticipated speech in London, May said that once Britain had negotiated a final deal to leave the European Union, it would be placed before the House of Commons and the House of Lords for approval.
She confirmed that Britain would leave the single market. But she said that, in the forthcoming negotiations with the EU, Britain would see seek a customs arrangement to replace the provisions of the EU customs union. Such a deal could amount to "associate membership" of the customs union, she said.
May said Britain would not adopt a "half-in, half-out" approach to the European Union, indicating that a so-called hard Brexit is on the cards.
"We seek a new and equal partnership -- between an independent, self-governing, global Britain and our friends and allies in the EU," May said.
"Not partial membership of the European Union, associate membership of the European Union, or anything that leaves us half-in, half-out. We do not seek to adopt a model already enjoyed by other countries. We do not seek to hold on to bits of membership as we leave.
"The United Kingdom is leaving the European Union. My job is to get the right deal for Britain as we do."
May warned other EU member states not to seek a "punitive" deal for Britain in order to send a message to Euroskeptics in other countries. Britain would not accept such as deal and would go it alone. "No deal for Britain is better than a bad deal for Britain," she said.
Talks on a deal can only begin once the British government invokes Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, which sets the rules of EU membership. May has said she wants to trigger the mechanism by the end of March. The UK Supreme Court is due to rule in the next few weeks on whether there must be a vote in the UK parliament before that can happen.
May has previously refused to give a "running commentary" on her negotiation plans when asked by Parliament. But in her speech she acknowledged it was important for businesses and others to have as much clarity as it was possible to give.
Criticism of May
May has faced recent criticism over her Brexit strategy and was dealt a blow earlier this month when Ivan Rogers, Britain's ambassador to the EU, resigned from his role in Brussels.
"We do not yet know what the government will set as negotiating objectives for the U.K.'s relationship with the EU after exit," Rogers wrote in a goodbye note to staffers, while also accusing Whitehall of "muddled thinking."
May rejected Rogers' assertion last week.
READ: Why Brexit talks just got much harder for the UK
"Our thinking on this isn't muddled at all," she told Sky News in her first interview of 2017.
"There hadn't been any plans made for Brexit so it was important for us to take some time to actually look at the issues, look at the complexity of the issues."
Rogers' resignation came just weeks after Michel Barnier, the EU's chief Brexit negotiator, warned Britain it was facing a race against time to strike an exit deal.
Barnier said the process would need to be completed by October 2018, ensuring enough time for ratification by the 27 remaining member states within the two-year time scale according to EU rules.

#OccupyCBN: Group plans protest at CBN tomorrow, says N500 to $1 unacceptable

A Civil Society Group, The Wailing Wailers, has condemned in what it termed, “conflicting and unclear monetary policies,” the Federal Government and especially the Central Bank Of Nigeria, CBN’s alleged sharp practices and anti-masses policies which it said have brought the Naira to exchange with the U.S Dollar at a sorry rate of N500 to $1, thereby unleashing severe hardship and misery on the people. It said, the policy which involves sharp practices in Forex tradings sees the apex bank selling the Dollar at a cheaper rate to the Federal government, some few politicians and some rich cabals who in turn sell at the black market at highly exorbitant rates of N500 to $1 , a development among others, it said have led to inflation in the country.

Vehicle importation: Senate rejects FG’s ban

Senate, yesterday, unanimously rejected the Federal Government’s ban on importation of vehicles through land borders into the country.

The Red Chamber It described the policy as anti-people and meant to further impoverish Nigerians.

Deputy Senate President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu who presided at yesterday’s plenary, specifically urged President Muhammadu Buhari to listen to the cries of Nigerians and rescind the decision.

“From the contributions here, it is obvious that the policy is unpopular. We are representatives of the people and the people have spoken through us that they do not want this policy. I think those in government should listen to them,” said Ekweremadu.

Adopting two, of the three prayers, Senate called on Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) to, “immediately, suspend further action on the ban on importation of vehicles through our land borders as January 1, 2017.”

Senate Committee on Customs and Excise has been mandated to investigate the circumstances which led to government’s decision.

Sponsor of the motion, Barau Jibrin, from Kano State, explained that the ban would lead to the loss of about 500,000 jobs.

He further argued: “The economy of border villages and towns that depend on the activities of vehicles importation shall be adversely affected, to the detriment of all.

“Since the announcement, through the NCS, Nigerians have spoken out, and they still do, that it is not economically expedient to ban the importation of vehicles through our land borders given the ramification of such a policy on the economy.

Senators who spoke on the issue, condemned the policy.

Immediate past Senate Leader, Ali Ndume said: “Let us not forget the fact that the Constitution says the primary responsibility of government is for the security and welfare of the people. This policy will render so many small businesses useless. My constituents are disturbing me to ensure that this policy is reversed.

“Why can’t Nigeria look at its policy to ensure that our laws are reformed? Senator Dino Melaye said, with the policy, it “is an admittance by Customs that they lack the capacity to mount our borders effectively. As a parliament, we must speak in the interest of the people. We should be seen to be defending the people we are representing here.”

Former Ebonyi State governor, Sam Egwu, said the policy is “an unpopular policy. This is a government that is supposed to bring change and succour to the people. But, they have brought hardship on the people.

“This Senate must stand with the people. We need to defend the people. This government should put on its thinking cap and come up with policies that are beneficial to the people.”

Chairman of the Committee on Works, Kabiru Gaya agreed that, although “this is our government, as legislators, we should speak the truth.

“By stopping importation through land borders, we are creating hardship. Other countries within West Africa region, have lower tariffs. We have to look at this issue.

“Let government man the borders and do the right thing. By this policy, we have created a new unemployment of over 500,000. This policy can increase in the states. We should reverse to the former policy. We should stop this policy.”

The committee headed by Senator Hope Uzodinma, is expected to report back within two weeks.

The Federal Government, recently rolled out new tariffs on imported goods and also placed a total ban on importation of vehicles through the land borders.

Since the policy was introduced, it has generated a mixed reaction, with majority of Nigerians, calling for a reversal of the policy.

Breaking: Jammeh hits roadblock in court (Gambia)

President Yahya Jammeh of Gambia now has to find another gambit to stay in power beyond next week, as his court case against Adama Barrow’s election has run into a ditch.
Gambia’s Supreme Court said today that it cannot rule for several months on Jammeh’s challenge against his electoral defeat on 1 December due to a lack of judges.
“We can only hear this matter when we have a full bench of the Supreme Court,” Emmanuel Fagbenle, the court’s chief justice said Tuesday.
The Nigerian judge said the extra judges needed to hear the case were not available.
The Gambia relies on foreign judges, notably from Nigeria, to staff its courts due to a lack of trained professionals in the tiny west African state.
Jammeh’s political party lodged a legal case on his behalf last month aimed at annulling the December 1 election result and triggering new elections.
Fagbenle added that he would prefer the country to resolve its political deadlock through the mediation underway by a group of West African leaders, who are attempting to persuade Jammeh to respect the constitution and step aside.
“This is why alternative dispute resolution is important,” he said.
“We are now only left with the ECOWAS mediation initiative and the inter-party committee set up by government to resolve the dispute,” he said.
The leaders from the ECOWAS regional grouping led by Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari will return to The Gambia for the second time since the election tomorrow to attempt a diplomatic solution, but Nigeria’s foreign minister has said the use of force remains an option.
By ECOWAS deadline, Jammeh has up till 19 January to quit office to allow the swearing in of Adama Barrow on 20 January, as the new leader.

FIFA Council unanimously approves World Cup expansion to 48 teams

The FIFA Council has rubber-stamped plans to expand the World Cup to 48 teams from 2026 onwards, adding 16 extra nations.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino's revamp plan received unanimous backing at a meeting in Zurich on Tuesday.
Delegates were asked to vote on four proposals to change the existing format or stick with the current format of 32 teams.

This is the first time since the 1998 World Cup that changes have been made to the make-up of the tournament, with the 2026 competition set to feature 16 groups of three.
Infantino's preferred option for change was for a 2026 competition featuring 16 groups of three, followed by a 32-team knockout, increasing the number of games from 64 to 80 but remaining inside a 32-day schedule.
There were also options to have a 40-team tournament, with 10 groups of four or eight groups of five, but the only other 48-team make-up would see a 32-team one-game knockout round with the winners joining 16 already-qualified teams.
Infantino has also suggested that penalty shootouts be brought in to settle the results of all drawn games, thereby minimising the risk of teams colluding in their final group games to eliminate others from the tournament.
The Swiss has repeatedly said his main motivation for expansion is to give more nations a chance of experiencing the joy of a World Cup, which will bolster international football in developed markets and help its growth in new ones.

It meets Infantino's election pledge of a bigger World Cup, and should help fund promised raises for FIFA's 211 members.
With 80 matches instead of 64, FIFA forecasts $1 billion extra income from broadcasting and sponsor deals, plus ticket sales, compared to $5.5bn forecast for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
FIFA's six continents should find out by May how many extra places they will get.
The African and Asian nations are expecting significant increases on their current allocation of four spots apiece, while UEFA wants 16 European teams in the tournament.
The other major decision regarding 2026 -- who will host the event -- is not scheduled for consideration until 2020 with a bid featuring United States, either on its own or in conjunction with one or both of Canada and Mexico, the overwhelming favourite.

The European Club Association continued its stance of opposing the move, calling it "regrettable" and claiming it had been made due to "political reasons."
