Ronaldo Equals Lionel Messi Record and Set a New One to Become One of Footballs Greatest

By Mike

Cristiano Ronaldo is no doubt one of football greatest ever after he showed his class against a tough opponent like Atletico Madrid.Ronaldo masterclass display in the 3 nill demolition of their city rival is a clear indication that the 31 year old is arguably a football icon.

MADRID -- At one stage of Real Madrid's Champions League semifinal destruction of Atletico Madrid, it seemed to be a case of one No. 7 coming to the party and the other staying at home. But in the end, that perspective would do not only Cristiano Ronaldo but also Antoine Griezmann a disservice.

That simplistic comparison, legitimately based around Griezmann's emergence as a genuine heir to Ronaldo's crown as football's most magnificent seven, was ultimately rendered meaningless by the Real forward's stunning hat trick of a first-half header and two second-half strikes.

Harder to be Liverpool defender than at Manchester United - Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp has said it is harder to be a centre-back for Liverpool than it is for other clubs including Manchester United.

Liverpool have struggled defensively this season, conceding 42 goals in 34 matches, although they are third in the Premier League table with four games to play.

Klopp indicated he is in the market for reinforcements at the back this summer but is targeting a player who suits Liverpool's higher defensive line.

He said: "If you defend deep then you have a lot of legs and help around, that's how it is. The first goal last week, this is not an excuse, but it can happen with a misjudgement and a counter-attack. A centre-half for a top team is playing with a lot of space at the back. That's how Tottenham act, how City act and sometimes how Arsenal act. Manchester United are for sure a bit different.

"So the biggest disappointment for us is not to be in the fight, at this period of the season, for the championship."

Nigeria Ruling Party (APC) Leaders at War with Themselves - Thecable

By Mike

see photos of Buhari and Saraki: The Nigerian political class is at war with itself

The confusion over the nomination of Ibrahim Magu as chair of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is one of the most remarkable pieces of political theatre you would ever see.
This is a man nominated by the president of Nigeria for public office. The president is head of the government’s executive arm. Yet another organ of that arm, the Department of State Secretary (DSS) continues to frustrate the nomination of Magu, accusing him – through a mishmash of insinuation and innuendo – of corruption.
Based on this report the candidate is consistently rejected by the national assembly, headed as it were by a Bukola Saraki who in public continues to insist on his loyalty to the president.
The president, his vice, and the famous law professor and Buhari’s friend Itse Sagay, who heads a special body aimed at sharpening the president’s anti-corruption war, insist that Magu will remain their candidate.
