Trump Criticizes Time’s ‘Person Of The Year’ As ‘Politically Correct’

President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday bragged about being named Time magazine’s Person of the Year, but criticized the title of the honor as “politically correct.”
“I was lucky enough to receive the Time Person of the Year,” Trump said in Des Moines, Iowa, the third rally on his “Thank You” victory tour. “They used to call it ‘Man of the Year,’ but they can’t do that anymore, so they call it ‘person.’ They want to be politically correct. That’s OK.”
Time originally called its annual feature on what the magazine considers the year’s most influential person “Man of the Year.” It changed the title to “Person of the Year” in 1999, even though several women won the honor before then, beginning with Wallis Simpson in 1936, who was given the title “Woman of the Year.”
Trump repeatedly railed against political correctness on the campaign trail, and his brash defiance galvanized supporters. During a GOP primary debate in August 2015, he famously attacked Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly for asking him about his sexist remarks about women, suggesting it was politically correct to treat women with respect.
“I don’t frankly have the time for total political correctness,” he told Kelly, prompting cheers from the audience.

Last Tango In Paris” is one of those movies your parents warned you about.
Praised by critics as high art and considered controversial by some because of its infamous X rating, the 1972 film, helmed by famed Italian director Bernardo Bertolucci, is best remembered for an explicit rape scene.
After starting an anonymous sexual relationship earlier in the film, Paul (Marlon Brando) uses butter as a lubricant to sodomize Jeanne (Maria Schneider). (The entire disturbing scene is available on YouTube, but we’re not going to link to it.)
Brando and Bertolucci both went on to receive nominations for the film, while Schneider, who was only 19 years old at the time she filmed the scene with a 48-year-old Brando, was traumatized by the experience.
In a recently surfaced video, Bertolucci indicates the film is even more disturbing than previously thought. The director admits that he and Brando planned to film the rape scene without telling Schneider the full details of it.
“The sequence of the butter is an idea that I had with Marlon in the morning before shooting it,” Bertolucci said during the 2013 interview at La Cinémathèque Française in Paris.
“I’d been, in a way, horrible to Maria, because I didn’t tell her what was going on,” he said, because “I wanted her reaction as a girl, not as an actress.”
“I wanted her to react humiliated,” Bertolucci said. “I think she hated me and also Marlon because we didn’t tell her.”
The director continued that he felt “very guilty” but ultimately did not regret his decision.
“To obtain something I think you have to be completely free,” he said. “I didn’t want Maria to act her humiliation, her rage, I wanted Maria to feel ... the rage and humiliation. Then she hated me for all [of her] life.”
Before Schneider died in 2011, the French actress revealed that the scene made her feel “humiliated” and “a little raped.” It wasn’t in the script, she claimed, and neither Bertolucci nor Brando apologized after filming.
“But during the scene, even though what Marlon was doing wasn’t real, I was crying real tears. I felt humiliated and, to be honest, I felt a little raped, both by Marlon and Bertolucci,” she said in a 2007 Daily Mail interview. “After the scene, Marlon didn’t console me or apologize. Thankfully, there was just one take.”
“I was so young and relatively inexperienced and I didn’t understand all of the film’s sexual content,” she continued. “I should have called my agent or had my lawyer come to the set because you can’t force someone to do something that isn’t in the script, but at the time, I didn’t know that.”

Sergio Aguero backing me to succeed - Manchester City's Kelechi Iheanacho

MANCHESTER -- Kelechi Iheanacho has said Sergio Aguero has backed him to take his place during his four-game Manchester City suspension.
Aguero was sent off for a two-footed challenge on Chelsea defender David Luiz in City's defeat on Saturday.
He will miss the Premier League matches against Leicester City, Watford, Arsenal and Hull City and will not be available until the game at Liverpool on Dec. 31.

And Iheanacho, who scored in City's 1-1 Champions League draw with Celtic on Tuesday, revealed Aguero had spoken to him and given him confidence that he can lead the attack in his absence.
"Before we played Celtic he said that it's up to me now to fill that gap, to carry the team along," Nigeria international Iheanacho told reporters.
"He's telling me I should do very well and they are words of encouragement from him. So I'm going to do it.
"It's a big opportunity for me now. Sergio's not around so I have to take responsibility. I need to work really hard to prove myself to the team and help get these points we need."
Iheanacho, 20, has shown he is one of the most ruthless strikers in the Premier League, scoring a goal every 97 minutes this season -- a better strike rate than Aguero (101 minutes), Alexis Sanchez (107 minutes), Harry Kane (109 minutes) and Diego Costa (112 minutes).
He said working with City boss Pep Guardiola had improved his all-round game, adding: "In training he needs you at 100 percent to get focused and do the right things.

"You need to follow the instructions and play with intensity. You need to do more. You need to help the team do more. You need to press high, help your teammates by getting back -- and, of course, score goals."

Barcelona's Luis Suarez on the verge of signing new contract - Bartomeu

Luis Suarez will extend his Barcelona contract within the next few days, according to club president Josep Maria Bartomeu.
Bartomeu also reiterated his belief that Lionel Messi will remain at the Camp Nou, but it is Suarez's new deal that the club have been working on for the last few months.
Bartomeu expects the Uruguay international to commit to terms which will tie him to Barca until at least 2022.
"We're about to close Suarez's renewal," he said in an interview with Radio Vision in Uruguay. "There are just a few final details [to sort]. But Luis will continue at Barcelona.
"He's well loved by everyone and he loves the club. In the coming days, weeks, we will announce it. Maybe it will be a great Christmas present. Not for Luis, who knows he will continue here, but for football fans.
"They know that he's a really important character, that he forms part of this spectacular trident that we have at the club, that he helps the team. The objective is that Suarez is here until at least the [2022] World Cup in Qatar. Our sporting projects are based around World Cups."

Luis Suarez celebrates his winner for Barcelona at the Camp Nou.
Luis Suarez could be about to sign a new Barcelona contract.
Barca hope to have Messi for just as long as Suarez and multiple reports in the Spanish media on Thursday suggested the forward's father, Jorge Messi, has arrived in the city to begin contract talks with the club.
Following claims the Argentine could be tempted to run his contract down, which expires in 2018, the club have come out stronger than ever in stating their belief that he will remain at the Camp Nou.
"We would like Messi to stay here for life and end his sporting career here," Bartomeu said in the same interview. "He is the most important player in the history of the club, without doubt. He's surpassed [Laszlo] Kubala, [Johan] Cruyff, Romario, [Diego] Maradona, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo. There's no-one like Messi.
"He is helping construct a great Barca, a universal Barca which spreads to all four corners of the planet -- although there's no-one person bigger than the club."
As well as Messi, Ivan Rakitic, Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Andres Iniesta are all expected to be handed new deals in the New Year.

Neymar, Javier Mascherano and Sergio Busquets have already signed extended terms this season as Barca tie down the players that have brought them success under Luis Enrique.

Real Madrid demand respect for Cristiano Ronaldo amid jail talk

Real Madrid have called for the "utmost respect" to be shown to Cristiano Ronaldo amid suggestions from officials in Spain that he could face jail time for tax fraud, saying the Portugal captain is "up to date with all of his tax obligations."
A group of European media outlets have reported that Ronaldo directed at least €150 million in income through the British Virgin Islands tax haven since 2009, and that the Spanish tax authorities have been investigating his affairs for 12 months already.
As soon as the story broke, Ronaldo's agency Gestifute strongly denied any wrongdoing, saying that all of its clients are fully compliant with all of their tax obligations.
Madrid have now issued a statement saying Ronaldo had documents proving the allegations are unfounded.
The statement read: "In view of the stories published over recent days and in consideration of the certificate issued by the Spanish Tax Agency which confirms that our player Cristiano Ronaldo is up to date with all of his tax obligations, Real Madrid C.F. call for the utmost respect to be shown towards Cristiano Ronaldo, whose conduct has been absolutely exemplary throughout all of his time at our club."
The statement comes after the president of the Gestha union, which represents lower-level workers at Spain's tax authority, said he expects Ronaldo to face tax fraud charges in court.
Gestha's secretary general, Jose Maria Mollinedo, also told Catalan radio show "El mon a RAC 1" that Ronaldo could face "six years in prison as a minimum."
Mollinedo added: "The reports about Cristiano Ronaldo look very much like he has been able to commit a fraud on more than €160m. We are looking at a serious tax offence. He could get two years in prison for each year. If the investigation is open for three years, that means six years in prison, as a minimum."
Ronaldo is not the only Madrid player to be named in the documents released to European media by the "Football Leaks" website, with teammates Pepe, Fabio Coentrao and Luka Modric also facing allegations over their taxes.
El Mundo claimed that Portugal defender Pepe had routed €3.7m in image rights income through an offshore company. He has responded via Instagramto say he had previously volunteered information about his image rights to the authorities to ensure he paid all taxes in full.
"After the information which has appeared in the media, I inform you that I am up to date with all my tax obligations," Pepe said. "In previous years when the tax criteria changed in Spain, voluntarily and before any requirement or intervention from the Tax Authority, I went to them to regularise my image rights income. I want to thank my new tax advisors at Senn Ferrero for their advice. I attach the official document to show that this is all in the past, and I do not have to talk again about this issue."
Ahead of Wednesday's Champions League Group D game at home to Borussia Dortmund, Madrid captain Sergio Ramos told a news conference: "It's a very delicate subject. I believe in law and justice. There's nobody better than these authorities to make such decisions.
"Personally I am very relaxed as everything I have earned throughout my life has been placed on the table. Some [reports] will be true, and others will be lies aimed at destabilising, but I don't think this will have an effect on the team's performance."

Is Pep Guardiola tinkering too much with Man City? Or is it something else?

Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Chelsea left Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola in a spot of bother. He had formatted a team specifically for the task of coping with Chelsea's 3-4-3 system, and the subsequent loss prompted inevitable criticism. Guardiola, they say, can be too much of a tinkerer.
In truth, the weekend defeat was tough to analyse. On paper, it was indeed a crushing defeat against the new Premier League title favourites, but it wasn't as comprehensive as the scoreline suggests. City dominated the first half, went 1-0 ahead and would probably have wrapped up the game comfortably, had Kevin De Bruyne not contrived to miss an open goal early in the second half. The subsequent collapse, though, was concerning.
It's also worth reiterating that Guardiola has lost only two Premier League matches so far. Both defeats, 2-0 away at Tottenham and Saturday's loss to Chelsea, eventually seemed resounding, but City performed well in both matches, created plenty of chances and would have arguably snatched a draw on another day. Pushing forward late on left them exposed to counterattacks, and in the final 10 minutes, they appeared rather ragged in both matches.
Results such as these happen, however, and every club is capable of slipping up against dangerous opponents. The real problem so far has been something different: City have unnecessarily dropped points in three home matches.
Against Everton, Southampton and, most surprisingly, Middlesbrough, Manchester City have drawn 1-1. These are the type of matches City need to win convincingly, wrapping up victory with a minimum of fuss. It's these matches too in which Guardiola's tinkering might have been most harmful.
The midweek Champions League draw with Celtic was yet another 1-1 draw. In isolation, it didn't matter; the game was meaningless. But it was two more dropped points and another confusing system from Guardiola, with youngster Tosin Adarabioyo flanked by full-backs Gael Clichy and Bacary Sagna in a three-man central defence and Pablo Zabaleta surprisingly deployed in midfield.
Guardiola has become such a tinkerer relatively recently in his career. He experimented increasingly toward the end of his time with Barcelona, and while always trying surprise systems with Bayern, he was most unpredictable during his final campaign in Bavaria. What's crucial, though, is that both teams always had a defined Plan A, a reliable, easily understood system to fall back upon. In part, that was because of what came before he arrived.
As Guardiola acknowledged throughout his period with Barcelona, he didn't invent their footballing philosophy, which essentially dated back many years to Rinus Michels' reign as manager in the mid-1970s. There was unquestionably a Guardiola style of play, one based upon ball possession more than ever before, but Barcelona's DNA was about passing football, specifically about midfielders who were brilliant in possession. Sergio Busquets, Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta were raised in the Barcelona school, and helpfully, all three highlighted Guardiola as one of their major inspirations.

Anti-Trumpers trying to sow chaos in Electoral College

Amid a rowdy recount push in battleground states, anti-Donald Trump forces are escalating efforts to invalidate his election on another front: the Electoral College.
The people who technically choose the next president will gather on Dec. 19 to, presumably, make the results of the Nov. 8 presidential election official. Trump won 306 electoral votes in the election, well above the 270 needed to defeat Hillary Clinton and claim the White House.
But even as Clinton herself has conceded and joined President Obama in urging a smooth transition of power, a group of electors from Colorado and Washington known as the “Hamilton Electors” is trying to persuade other electors to unite behind a Republican alternative to Trump.
On Monday, they peeled off one Republican. Chris Suprun, from Texas, said he won't cast one of his state's 38 electoral votes for Trump because "I am here to elect a president, not a king."
Suprun previously indicated he would support Trump. But he now says the president-elect's postelection attacks on the First Amendment, as well as the billionaire businessman's continued promotion of his brand and business interests overseas, changed his mind.
The anti-Trump electors, however, face a very steep climb. In total, they would need to persuade 37 electors to either abstain from voting or switch their vote from Trump to someone else. This would throw the vote for president to the House of Representatives.
Texas law doesn't mandate that electors vote according to the results of the state's presidential election, which Trump won by nine percentage points over Clinton.
But a majority of states bind their electors to the state’s popular-vote winner, complicating efforts to switch those votes.
“It’s clearly a binding position,” Cherilyn Eagar, a Utah elector, told The Salt Lake Tribune of the law in her state, dismissing efforts to get fellow electors to defect from Trump.
The same newspaper notes that some attorney groups have offered to defend electors who try to defy the will of their states.
Politico reported Monday that advocates of the latest stop-Trump plan have been in touch with Clinton allies, though Clinton and her campaign have not commented on the plan. Clinton likewise has not gotten behind Green Party candidate Jill Stein’s efforts to pursue a recount in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan.
The plan for Electoral College chaos doesn’t necessarily hold promise for Clinton anyway.
Anti-Trump electors are pushing for members of the Electoral College to support a Republican alternative in order to bring Trump’s number down – not elevate Clinton’s.
According to Politico, Democratic electors backing the push are leaning toward Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who ran unsuccessfully for president, as the likely alternative.
Suprun said he “would have to strongly consider someone like Kasich who has both executive and legislative experience bringing people together.”
Suprun said he was waiting to see if other electors revolt and rally behind a Trump alternative like Kasich.
"I'm looking for someone we can all unify behind," he said.
The Kasich camp is pushing back on efforts to put forward his name on Dec. 19.
Kasich himself tweeted Tuesday that he's not a candidate and urged electors not to vote for him:

TOP 10 DIY FOR BABIES BETWEEN ZERO- 1 YEAR OLD

Do it yourself, also known as DIY, is the method of building, modifying, or repairing things without the direct aid of experts or professionals. Academic research describes DIY as behaviors where "individuals engage raw and semi-raw materials and component parts to produce, transform, or reconstruct material possessions, including those drawn from the natural environment (e.g. landscaping) Wolf & McQuitty (2011).
Below is a list of 31 DIY for infants between zero to 1 year old.
1. Sticky Ball Fine Motor Activities for Infants

Materials: plastic ball and masking tape
Procedure:
Wrap the masking tape, sticky-side out, around the ball in a few different directions to cover the entire ball with tape.
Skills learned: It engages a baby’s brain in some simple problem-solving that will be fun for you to see
2. Movable Fabric Road
Materials needed:
·        Old jeans or denim scrap
·        Yellow paint
·        Scissors
·        Paintbrush
Procedures:
·        Cut your denim into long strips
·        Hem the edges (optional)
·        Using a paint brush paint small yellow dashes down the material to make the stripes in the middle of the streets.
·        Once the paint is dry cut your material into pieces/shapes you desire. With one pair of jeans I was able to make two long roads, two shorter roads, two curved roads, and a four way intersection piece.

3. Crumb Writing

Materials needed: Baby rice cereal or finely crumbed crackers, cookie sheet
What to do: Spread the rice cereal or crumbled crackers on the cookie sheet, and show him how to use a finger to "write" in the crumbs. "This gives [children] the opportunity to imitate the adults and older siblings in their lives, which is a major meaningful activity of early childhood," says Rachel Coley, occupational therapist, author of Simple Play: Easy Fun For Babies, and founder of CanDoKiddo.com. Bonus: The "sand" is edible! (Of course, supervise your child closely.)
Skills learned: Early handwriting skills, understanding cause and effect.
4. Books for Babies
Materials: construction paper, black maker, clear packaging tape.
Procedure:
·        First step is to decide what you would like on each page of your book. I made a shape book, a book with the letters of my child’s name, and a book with numbers.
·        Cut a piece of construction paper into 4 parts. You can fold it lengthwise then width-wise, unfold it and use the fold lines to guide your cutting.
·        Choose the page order, and create a cover.
·        I wrote “How to Spell Henry” as the title for the book I made for my twin son. You can use that as a guide and write your child’s name or create your own title. Then flip the cover page over and write the first letter of your child’s name on the back.
·        Write the rest of the letters (one per page) flipping the pieces of paper to write one letter on the front and one letter on the back until you have all the letters written on the paper. You may need to cut an additional piece of paper to add more pages.
·        On the last page, write “That’s how you spell [write child’s name]” if you like. (This is a line from the Name Spelling song.)
·        Lay out the Ziploc® bags with the zipper side to the left.
·        Open a zipper bag and insert the cover page for your DIY book then close the zipper.
·        Continue filling the bags until each page is in a bag and facing the correct way.
·        Lay all of the bags in order with the zipper on the left.
·        Tear off (1) 4-inch long piece of packing tape and set it aside.
·        Fold over the zippers (all together) twice (as the photo above shows) and then tape down the zipper flap. (This creates the bind of your book.) The pictures show the bind folded towards the back. After trying two ways, it looks nicer to fold the zippers to the front and tape them down. Find out what you prefer!

Skills learned: it helps develop baby’s mental ability to read and identify symbols.

5. Pick A Boo Boxes for Babies

Materials: small cardboard box with a flap that opens on top, sheet of construction paper, black maker, packaging tape, 1-2 photos of your child.

Procedure:

·        Start by trimming any extra flaps from your box. A baby has to be able to open and close the top, so it has to be easy to open.

·        Fold your construction paper into 4 sections, or quarters, cut the 4 sections apart.

·        Write your infants name on one of the paper and tape that piece to the top of the box. Overlap pieces of packaging tape to cover the entire piece of paper.

·        Tape a photo of your child to the other piece of the paper. A photo 31/2x 5 inches works well depending on the size of the box that you are using.

·        Tape the photo on the inside of the box. If you want to use more than one photo, tape the other one under the flap so baby can see two photos when they open the box.

Skills learned: it encourage self awareness and object permanence using their own photo.

6. Sensory Crawl for Infants

Materials: packaging tape, baking cooling rack, pillow, duplo building mat, washed cloth, piece of fabric, clothing item, bubble wrap, rug grip, piece of cardboard.

Procedure:

·        First, choose the items you want to use.

·        Second, use strips of packing tape to secure each item to the floor. This is optional, but for walkers, it may be safer to secure anything slippery to help prevent falls.

·        Then, let your Little Mover loose to explore!

Skills learned: A sensory crawl activity is a great way to encourage infants and toddlers to crawl and walk by adding a safe focus for their exploration.

7. Build It Up: Toilet Roll Activity

Materials: toilet paper rolls or cardboard rolls from craft shop, stickers, coloured paper, glue, scissors, paints and brushes, tape.
Procedure:
This activity is good for children of varying ages, from toddler to preschool.
Decorate the rolls with stickers or paper shapes stuck on with tape or glue.
Allow to dry.
Little hands can work on creating colourful structures of different heights.

8. Water Play for Infants

Materials:
Lay a beach towel or several small kitchen towels on a water-safe floor like linoleum or tile.
Fill up a pitcher with water.
Place a non-breakable mixing bowl or a plastic dishpan on the towel.
Pour the water from the pitcher into the bowl or container.
Provide some spoons or measuring cups and your child can play!
Procedure:
·        Lay a towel on the floor and set a baking sheet on top.
·        Fill a pitcher with water.
·        Pour some water into the baking sheet.
·        Place child on their tummy near the baking sheet so they can reach the water with their hands.
Skills learned: it keep babies active

9. Baby Blocks

Cut the squares 4.5" x 4.5" for a 4" cube.

Sew the 6 squares together in a cross formation with a 1/4" seam allowance. At each corner stop 1/4" from the edge. Then sew the sides and top leaving one edge open. Turn right side out, stuff the foam block inside and hand stitch closed.

Skills learned: It improves baby’s dexterity.

10. Milk Carton Photo Blocks

Materials: 6 photographs, quart-sized milk or juice carton, scissors, clear packaging tape, scotch tape or masking tape, wrapping paper.
Procedure:
·        Make sure your cartons are clean and dry. I rinsed mine out with hot soapy water a few times.
·        Cut off the very top along the top most crease of the carton.
·        Cutting up the open end of the carton, cut half way up one corner.
·        Turn the scissors and cut around the carton perpendicular to the side cut. You should cut through only 3 sides.
·        When you have cut through the 3 sides as shown, cut up the crease to leave the fourth side on the box.
·        Fold down the remaining side to create a top to the box. Fold over any overlap.
·        Using two pieces of scotch tape or masking tape, tape down the flap to close the box and make a block.
·        Wrap the block with your choice of paper. I chose brown because it was plain and added some additional support to the box.
·        Using clear tape, tape your family photos to the sides of the block. You may have to trim them down to fit. I used two small pieces of scotch tape per photo.(You can use glue for this.)
·        Using the packing tape, wrap the block with strips of tape until it is completely covered on each side. (Clear contact paper can work too.)
·        This helps protect the block and your child. Any drool or wetness will cause the ink of the photos to run, and since infants and many toddlers put many items in their mouths, it is safer for your child to avoid getting ink and pieces of paper in their mouth.
·        Once your blocks are complete, they are ready for play! This is a great building block for infants and toddlers because they are lightweight and larger in size.
Skills learned: It is still fun for the kids to this day to look at the pictures and see what they looked like as babies, as well as remind them of their extended family.
